      PURPOSE

      LAMBDA is an academic non-profit organization, which was founded in Luxembourg in 1987 and which is devoted to the promotion of scientific and technological progress. Our past and future activities include

      • informing , sensibilizing and educating the public,

      • organizing talks, seminars and scientific meetings,

      • analyzing higher education and research policies,

      • monitoring and evaluating scientific developments,

      • initiating and supporting research projects.

      These aims are to be achieved in close cooperation with other institutions and organizations.


      LEADERSHIP

      LAMBDA is headed by an executive council of four members, to be elected every year.

      • President : Dr.rer.nat. Emil Weydert


      MEMBERSHIP

      LAMBDA distinguishes three types of membership.

      • Supporting members (300+ LUF/Y.) : Open to everybody willing to support our work. Interested members will receive additional information about our activities.

      • Active members (1000 LUF/Y.) : Open to a restricted number of university-trained people willing to invest time and energy into our projects. New members must be proposed by existing members and confirmed by the executive council.

      • Honorary members (0 LUF/Y.) : Attributed by the executive council to non-members which have made an outstanding contribution to the objectives of our organization.
